Oskaloosa placed third at the Royal Valley Invitational hosted by Firekeeper Golf Course in Mayetta on Monday afternoon.
The Bears shot a team score of 390 which was 17 strokes behind second place Bonner Springs (373) and 34 strokes better than fourth place Horton (424). Royal Valley placed fifth out of the five teams with a team score of 473.
Horton junior Kaden Smith led all area golfers with a 95 which was good for 10th place overall. Luke McAfee, another junior from Horton finished 12th place individually with a 102.
Junior Riddick Wartan led Royal Valley with a 13th place 103.
Oskaloosa was led by senior Cooper Batemon who shot a 122, which placed him 19th for the tournament.
Tonaganoxie won the tournament with a team score of 342. They also occupied the first six spots in the individual results with senior Carter Gratton leading the way with an 82, winning the tournament by four strokes.
