The Onaga boys’ golf team won the Frankfort Invitational at Cool Springs Golf Course in Onaga on Tuesday afternoon with a team score of 347.

The Buffaloes shot 14 strokes better than second place Centralia which shot a 361. The Panthers finished 11 shots better than third place Bishop Seabury with a 372.

Centralia senior Drew Gibbs won the tournament with an individual score of 80. Gibbs was very consistent with nine pars and a birdie. The biggest reason for the senior’s victory was the limited number of mistakes with only one double bogey, which was on the 18th hole. He was also the only golfer to break 40 on any nine holes with a 38 on his front nine.

Onaga had three players finish in the top five with senior Eli Oliver placing second with an 83, junior Konnor Nider placing third with an 86 and freshman Graham Valburg placing fourth with an 87.

Centralia senior Drew Rumbo rounded out the top five with an 89.

The average score among golfers was 104.6 with 31 total golfers playing.
