Sabetha won their home nine-hole golf meet on Monday afternoon at the Sabetha Country Club.

The Bluejays won by 16 strokes with a score of 163. Nemaha Central finished runner-up in the quad with a score of 179 and Holton finished third with a score of 184.

Sabetha junior Cullen Wikle shot a high school career best one-under 35 to get the individual victory. His performance was the second time in his career that he broke 40 in a singular nine-hole stretch. His previous low score (37) was also at his home course one week before Monday’s tournament.

His teammate, sophomore Roman Scoby finished two strokes back as the runner up. His 37 is also a career best.

Nemaha Central junior Aidan Broxterman was two strokes back of Scoby to get on the podium with a third-place score of 39. Holton senior Parker Crouch shot a score of 41 for fourth place and Nemaha Central senior Isaac Lueger shot a 43 for fifth place.

Hiawatha brought one golfer, senior Blake SanGrait, and he shot a 47, which tied him for eighth place.

Mild temperatures and little wind created ideal golfing conditions in Sabetha on Monday afternoon which helped the field shoot an average score of 46.7 among the 19 golfers that competed in the quad.
