The Washington County boys golf team finished runner-up on Tuesday afternoon at the Republic County Invitational at Belleville Country Club. 

Southeast of Salina ran away with the event shooting a 318 followed by the Tigers in second place at 341. 

Valley Heights finished in fifth place behind Republic County and Smith Center. 

Jayden Dewalt led Valley Heights as he finished in a tie for third place with an 81 while the Tigers were led by Konner Gepner with an 82 which was good for a tie for fifth place. 

Southeast of Saline had the top three scores with Joel Huffaker shooting a 75 to win the tournament. 

Four other golfers for Washington County all broke 90 with Miles Miller shooting 85, Monte Huckett and Grayson Votipka both with an 87, and Carson Kearn with an 89. 

The Tigers overall posted five golfers inside the top 12.
