KBCA’s First Rankings of 2024 Released

The Kansas Basketball Coaches Association has released its first rankings in the new year.

The Nemaha Central girls start 2024 ranked number six in Class 3A. 

In Class 2A, Riverside is the number one team in the state. A few spots behind them are number seven is Valley Heights. Maur Hill Mount Academy starts 2024 number nine. 

Clifton-Clyde is number two in Class 1A-DI. A couple spots behind them at number four is Frankfort. Centralia finds themselves three spots behind Frankfort as the seventh ranked team in the state. 

Hanover ranks third in Class 1A-D2. Linn’s impressive start has been awarded with a number eight ranking. 

For the boys rankings in Class 4A, Atchison starts the new year ranked number three. 

Marysville is ranked number six in Class 3A behind only Beloit, Goodland, Cheney, Hesston and Wichita-Collegiate. 

Horton stays in the top ten despite a recent loss, checking in at number ten in Class 2A. 

In Class 1A-DI, Clifton-Clyde cracks the top five coming into 2024 ranked fifth. 

Axtell is no longer the top dog in Class 1A-D2 with Northern Valley leapfrogging them. Hanover checks in at four.
