Thursday was day two and the second straight day for all teams to play at the 10th Annual Thunder Classic Boys Tournament in Seneca.

St. Mary's 50, Jackson Heights 18

The top seed Bears jumped to a 20-2 lead and never looked back in route to a 7-1 record. St. Mary's led 34-11 at halftime and held the Cobras to six made field goals. Brady Hurla scored 13 of his 15 points in a flury of the first quarter while Howie Rezac added 10 points, Ben Devader had 9 off the bench and Zach Sommars added 8. St. Mary's hit 8 three-pointers after connecting on 13 the opening game against Holton.  Jackson Heights (4-5) was led by Jace Robinson with 7 points and ended up with nearly 20 turnovers in the loss.

Holton 58, Hiawatha 43

Game two was much closer than the final score as Hiawatha led 14-11 after one quarter and despite trailing by six points at halftime, it was a 37-34 Holton advantage heading into the final period. The Redhawks went on a 9-0 run to take a 34-33 lead, before the Wildcats scored the final four points of the third quarter and parlayed that into a 21-9 fourth quarter finish.

Brayden Peek led Holton with 18 points while Korben Fox finished with 8 of his 12 points in the fourth stanza. Bodie Dillon had 10 points and the Cats got solid contributions off the bench with Kerrick Dedonder scoring 9 and Brayden Binkley adding 4 as Holton improved to 3-6 on the season with their second victory against Big 7 foe Hiawatha.

Cameron Boswell scored 17 points to pace Hiawatha while Conner Kettler added 8 and Ethan Morton chipped in seven before both those players fouled out in the final three minutes. Fouls led to free throws which was a big difference in this game as Holton made 19 of 27 freebies including 8 of 10 in the fourth quarter and Hiawatha was only 7 of 17 at the charity stripe.

Nemaha Central 50, Marysville 27

Nemaha Central led and controlled the entire game slowly adding to their lead by outscoring Marysville in all four quarters. The Thunder led 13-8 after one frame and 28-14 at halftime before taking a 41-21 lead into the fourth in a game that featured more than 50 total free throws.

Marysville got 11 points from Will Otott and 6 by Mason Rader in the loss, falling to 6-4 this year. Both teams made a trio of three-pointers, but the Bulldogs shot a much lower percentage on a day they struggled shooting on the perimeter.
