The Maur Hill-Mount Academy girls basketball team clinched their first league title in 39 years after they defeated Pleasant Ridge on Tuesday 55-51.

Their Northeast Kansas League league title this year is also the second in school history.

The Ravens are a perfect 14-0 in league play at the moment with an overall record of 16-2.

"It's been amazing to watch this group of girls do something historic for our school and it is something they'll remember for a long time," said Maur Hill-Mount Academy girls basketball head coach Luke Noll. "They are intelligent, fun, selfless, and committed teammates, and we are so proud of how they have represented our team in accomplishing this first league championship for girls basketball since 1985."

The Ravens have two regular season games left against Horton this Friday and at McLouth next Tuesday in hopes to get the 1-seed in their sub-state standings, and add to their already historic season.
