The Kansas Association of Baseball Coaches have updated their rankings and the Valley Falls Dragons have vaulted to the top spot in Class 2-1A.
The Dragons are off to a 6-0 start with NEKL sweeps over Horton, Maur Hill-Mount Academy, and McLouth. They have outscored those three opponents 78-26.
Frankfort/Centralia also off to a fantastic start in 2024 at 6-0 are ranked #4 in 2-1A. They have put together sweeps over Onaga, Blue Valley-Randolph, and Hiawatha.
The Northeast Kansas League have a good showing in the latest rankings with Oskaloosa ranked #5 and Pleasant Ridge ranked #8 in 2-1A. The Bears have already won 12 of 14 games including all six games in league play. The Rams are 6-0 and have put together sweeps over ACCHS, Horton, and Maur Hill-Mount Academy.
The Sabetha Bluejays have dropped out of the 3A rankings this week but another Big 7 team enters and that's Perry-Lecompton ranked 10th. The Kaws are coming off a split against Jefferson West and are 7-2 overall and 5-1 in Big 7 league play.
