The Hiawatha Redhawks and the Marysville Bulldogs played a hard-fought game that ended in a decisive 38-0 victory for Marysville. Led by senior quarterback Will Otott and junior running back Camron Wetter, the Bulldogs started strong and established a 12-0 lead in the first half. In the second quarter, Marysville threatened to extend their advantage by pushing deep into the red zone, but Hiawatha’s defense held firm.

After halftime, Marysville came out firing with a kickoff return touchdown to start the third quarter, followed by a successful two-point conversion. Hiawatha struggled to build any offensive momentum, while Marysville continued to dominate. On their next drive, the Bulldogs scored again, extending their lead to 32-0 by the end of the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, Hiawatha could not generate any offensive momentum, while Marysville added another touchdown to make the final score 38-0.

Despite the outcome, Rafe Schuetz, Gus Smith, Josh Monaghan, and Ethan Morton spearheaded the Redhawks’ defense, displaying toughness and determination with several key stops. Junior Ty Moser and senior Dakota Slupianek also made significant plays for the Bulldogs, contributing to the team’s dominant performance.

Marysville will next face the powerhouse Wamego Red Raiders on Friday, while Hiawatha will host the Sabetha Bluejays in their first home game.
