The Centralia volleyball team opened their 2025 season this past weekend with a second place finish at the Amy Schutter Invitational at Wabaunsee. 

The Panthers only loss came in the championship to Rock Creek 21-25, 19-25. They swept pool play with wins over St. Marys, Heritage Christian, and Wabaunsee. 

Centralia would defeat NEK 25-16, 17-25, 25-20 in the semifinals before the loss to Rock Creek. 

Axtell went 3-2 for the weekend finishing in fifth place. The Eagles defeated Mission Valley in pool play but lost to Rock Creek and NEK. 

They would beat St. Marys 25-17, 25-8 in the consolation semifinals and followed that with a 25-14, 22-25, 25-13 win over Mission Valley in the fifth place match. 

Overall records for teams: Rock Creek 5-0, Centralia 4-1, Wabaunsee 3-2, Axtell 3-2, Mission Valley 2-3, NEK 2-3, Heritage Christian 2-3, and St. Marys 0-5.
