Former Jeff West Tiger Olivia Brees Throws No-Hitter, Collects 1,300th Strikeout in Upset Win
Olivia Brees

Throwing a no-hitter at the collegiate level is a feat in and of itself, but to do it against the No. 2 team in the country can truly set a great player apart from a good player.

That’s exactly what former Jeff West Tiger and now Baker University senior Olivia Brees was able to do earlier this week as the Wildcats upset No. 2 Marian 1-0 in 10 innings.

Baker would up ending their season with two losses to Marian who won the best-of-three series with 1-0 and 5-0 wins.

Brees struck out 14 batters in the game one win, which was the 100th of her career and the 25th time this season she has recorded double-digit strikeouts.

She wrapped up her senior campaign with a 35-3 record allowing just a 0.73 earned run average while striking out 449 batters in 239.2 innings.

Brees finishes her career at Baker University with an overall record of 100-34, a 1.42 ERA and 1,302 strikeouts in 850.1 innings.

She will no doubt be an NAIA All-American once this season comes to an official close, and ends her time at Baker as one of the best pitchers in school history and one of the best in Heart Conference history as well.
