Former Holton Wildcat Lucas Lovvorn Captures Third Straight NAIA National Wrestling Title
Lucas Lovvorn

For the first time in the history of Baker University wrestling, former Holton Wildcat Lucas Lovvorn captured a third-consecutive NAIA National Championship just a little over a week ago cementing himself as one of the best wrestlers in Wildcat history.

Along with the third straight national title, Lovvorn was also named the NAIA Wrestler of the Year for the second straight season while being named an NAIA All-American for the third straight season.

His title at 174-pounds capped off a perfect season as with five wins in the National Tournament he finished the year with a 41-0 record which pushed his career record to 114-4 capping off a 107-match win streak.

Lovvorn is one of the most decorated wrestlers not only in Baker University history but nationally as well as he ended his senior season with three national titles, two All-American selections and two consecutive unbeaten seasons.

He also captured two consecutive Heart Conference championships along with being named the Heart Wrestler of the Year the past two seasons.

This all comes after a successful high school career at Holton where he captured the 160-pound title his senior season and won the 152-pound state title his junior campaign after taking fourth at 138 pounds his sophomore year.

Lovvorn wraps up his career as one of the best wrestlers in Baker University history and goes out on top and will forever be known as a 3-time National Champion.
