Former Marysville Bulldog Jack Blumer Using Leg to Shine at Kansas State
Jack Blumer

At Marysville High School, Jack Blumer was known for being an all-state quarterback where he led his Bulldogs to deep playoff runs and a state runner-up finish to Sabetha in 2017.

Now, Blumer is known for his leg more than his arm as he is currently in his sophomore season on the Kansas State football team where he has served as the team’s punter and place holder on kicks.

After walking on and redshirting, Blumer has earned his way onto the team by performing well through the Cats 3-1 start as he is averaging 41.4 yards per punt with one touchback, two 50-yard punts and one punt inside of the 20 yard line.

His best performance came in K-State’s season-opening loss to Arkansas State where he punted twice, averaging 44 yards per punt with a 54-yard bomb thrown in.

In his time at Marysville he was one of the more decorated athletes as he was named an all-state selection his senior season by being named one of the top 11 players in the state by the Kansas Football Coaches Association.

He threw for 3,165 yards and 31 touchdowns his senior season and in his career threw for 3,787 yards and 34 scores while rushing for 1,211 yards and 14 touchdowns, 13 of which came in his senior season.

Blumer will look to continue to shine for the Cats on Saturdays and look to help win a Big 12 Title for K-State who currently sits at the top of the league with a 3-0 league mark and a 3-1 record overall.
