Emma Yungeberg

This week’s “Blast from the Past” is Emma Yungeberg, formerly of Valley Heights, and currently throwing for the University of Michigan Track and Field team.

Already putting together a solid start to her freshman campaign as she placed 7th in the weight throw at the Michigan Invitational on January 14th. She followed that up with a career-best in the weight throw as she finished 4th place at the Simmons-Harvey Invitational on January 21st.

Emma was one of the most decorated track and field athletes in Kansas history. She swept the 2A javelin, shot put and discus titles this past spring at state track in Wichita. First place in the javelin and shot put in 2021 and won the javelin title in 2019.

Her javelin throw following 2021 ranked 4th in Kansas and 13th nationally while her javelin throw in 2022 ranked 3rd in Kansas and 24th nationally.
