Former Atchison Redmen, Avery Enzbrenner A Key Piece To Ottawa Volleyball

After a great spiker and athletic career at Atchison high school former lady Redmen, Avery Enzbrenner has continued her volleyball career the past few years at Ottawa University.

Enzbrenner is in her final season with the Ottawa Braves and is off to a strong start in her senior year as the Braves on 8-5 on the season. Avery has played in all 13 matches and all 49 sets played registering 128 kills on the season which leads the team, while also recording 34 digs and 12 blocks on the year. She ranks fourth in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference in both kills (128) and hitting percentage (.245), while ranking eighth in the conference in kills per set (2.6). On the season she has notched 10 or more kills in seven matches, while recording at least nine kills in 10 matches on the year, with her season best coming against Central Methodist with 13 kills.

The senior has enjoyed great success every year for the Braves and has made an impact for the volleyball team ever since her freshman year. Last year as a junior she was part of a Braves team that recorded the most wins in a single season in school history in 34, while winning the KCAC regular and tournament titles and made it to the NAIA National Tournament Final site for the first time in school history. Avery finished third on the team in kills with 256 as a junior and earned honorable mention All-KCAC honors, recording her career best in kills with 19 against Culver-Stockton. While her junior year Avery filled the stat line all around with 187 kills, 303 digs and 49 blocks and registered 185 kills her freshman year.

As a Redmen, Enzbrenner was named All-KCAL first team three times in her career, while picking up Offensive Player of the Year honors twice in her career.

Avery looks to cap her college athletic career with a strong season for the Ottawa Braves who look to put together strong season and make a run at repeating as KCAC champs and making the NAIA National tournament.
