Former Sabetha Bluejay, Taryn Schuette Part of Concordia Women's Basketball NAIA DII National Runner-up Team

After experiencing plenty of success with her teammates at the high school level in basketball former Sabetha Bluejay, Taryn Schuette has now found success with new teammates at the college level playing basketball at Concordia University in Nebraska. 

The Concordia Bulldogs women's basketball team just wrapped up their 2017-18 season and finished the season with a 36-2 record and NAIA DII National Runner-ups after playing in the National Championship and falling 82-59 to Dakota Wesleyan. 

Schuette who was on the JV team her freshman season saw action at the varsity level this year for the Bulldogs playing in 19 games. The former Bluejay averaged 1.8 points and 1.7 rebounds per game, scoring a total of 35 points on the season at the varsity level. She scored in 10 of the 19 games played including posting an 11 points and five rebounds game where she was 4-6 from the floor against Robert Morris. 

In high school Schuette helped the Sabetha girls basketball team to multiple Big Seven League titles, a fourth place finish in 3A at State in 2015 and State Runner-up finish in 2016. She earned All-League honors three times and honorable mention All-State her junior and senior years. While she competed in basketball was also a strong athlete in several other sports competing in cross country and qualifying for State three times, while also competing in track and swimming. 

Schuette looks to build upon her experience the past two seasons in college and increase her role next season for the Concordia Bulldogs.
