Centralia Girls Win Regional 1A Track Crown & Highlight Area Performers (Full Results)

The area Class 1A Regional at Frankfort for track had a strong Twin Valley League flavor to the competition and the TVL performed well with one other area school outside of the TVL sending a few qualifiers to State next week in Wichita, also. 

The lady Panthers of Centralia pounced on a Regional track title for another trophy for the case at Centralia high school winning the Regional title by 15 points. Three first place finishes led the lady Panthers as Chelsea Huerter won the pole vault (10'00), Tara Bergmann earned the gold in the discus (120'1) and the 4x100 meter relay team took first. Bergmann also qualified for State in the shot put by placing third, while Madison Lueger took second in the javelin, Tamra Jones raced to second in the 1600 meter run, Breanna Hasenkamp earned the silver in the pole vault and Maegan Koch finished second in the 400 meter dash. Also qualifying for State for Centralia was Katie Glatczak who finished third in the 300 meter hurdles and fourth in the 100 meter dash, while Mayda Stallbaumer took fourth in the 800 meter run, Breanna Schmitz snagged fourth in the pole vault and the lady Panthers 4x800 meter relay team finished fourth. 

In the boys competition, Dylan Boeckman qualified for State for Centralia in the pole vault after taking second and in the 300 meter hurdles after a fourth place finish. Stephan Leblanc also earned a trip to State after placing fourth inteh pole vault. 

Axtell Eagle girls and boys each finished third as as teams at Regionals led by four event wins on the day. Bradie Schmitz sprinted to a pair of those wins posting times of 26.60 and 59.17 to win the 200 and 400 meter dashes, while the lady Eagles registered a time of 10:31 to win the 4x800 meter relay and a time of 8:42.32 won the 4x800 meter relay for the Axtell boys. Also qualifying for State for Axtell with second place finishes was Mariah Deters in the girls high jump, Brice Koch in the boys 800 meter run, Caleb Heiman in the boys 110 and 300 meter hurdles and the lady Eagles 4x400 meter relay team. Deters also registered a third place finish in the long jump, while Koch took third in the 400 meter dash, along with Chelsea Smtih racing to the bronze medal in the girls 1600 meter run and Kiersten Talbot earning third place in the 800 meter run. Eagle boys 4x400 meter relay team snagged a third place finish, while Colton Buessing took fourth in the 800 meter run and Burke Deters placed fourth in the 3200 meter run. 

Trio of first place Regional finishes led the Hanover Wildcats as Matthew White sprinted to the win in the boys 100 meter dash (11.19), Claire Zarybnicky won the girls 800 meter run (2:29.31) and the Wildcat boys won the 4x400 meter relay (3:33.31). The Wildcat boy’s added second place finishes for the 4x100 and 4x800 meter relay teams, while the lady Wildcats took third in both the 4x800 and 4x400 meter relays. White added a second place finish in the 400 meter dash to his day, while Paige Doebele placed third in the girl’s triple jump and William Peters finished third in the boys high jump. 

Kenzie Blevins, Carson Lackey and Kody Collins are all headed to State for Doniphan West and doing so as Regional champs. Blevins won the girls triple jump (34'3), while also taking second in the 200 meter dash. For Lackey he won the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.22 and qualified for State also in the 100 meter dash after a third place finish. Collins notched a time of 15.90 to win the boys 110 meter hurdles, while the Mustang boys 4x100 meter relay team with a time of 45.10 also grabbed gold. 

A vault of 12'6 led Sheldon Parthemer to first place in the boy’s pole vault as he led the Frankfort Wildcats performances at Regionals. Ryan Kraushaar qualified for State in three events for Frankfort after getting second place in the boy’s long jump and javelin and third in the 200 meter dash. A second place in the girl’s long jump and fourth in the 200 meter dash qualified Emilee Ebert for State in both events, while Marie Wessel took second in the discus for the Wildcats. 

Linn Bulldogs she three Regional event wins on the day with Brooke Diederich leading the charge taking first in the girls 100 meter dash (13.15) and long jump (16'01), while also finishing third in the 200 meter dash. Shelby Ohdle posted a leap of 5'4 to win the gold in the girl’s high jump for Linn, while the lady Bulldog 4x100 meter relay team took second and Chance Peters placed third in the boy’s shot put. 

Second place finishes by Cheyenne Brunkow in the girls shot put and Maggie Revell in the girls 800 meter run led the Onaga Buffaloes at Regionals. While, Garrett Ames took third in the 110 and 300 meter hurdles in boys action and Logan Marten earned a bronze in the triple jump. Fourt place finishes were garnered by Belinda Ames in the girls 100 meter hurdles, Michael Eisenbarth in the boys 1600 meter run and Tanner Marten in the boys triple jump. 

Griffen Vincent won two events for Blue Valley-Randolph posting leaps of 20'03.25 and 40'06.50 to win the long jump and triple jump boys crowns, while also finishing fourth in the high jump. Silver medals were picked up by Kathryn Huston in the girls 3200 meter run, Georgia Hatesohl in the girl’s 100 meter hurdles and Chase Carey in the boys 1600 meter run for the Rams, while Michael Wright placed fourth in the boy’s discus. 

Wetmore Cardinals are sending athletes to State led by Curtis Bloom who placed second in the boy’s triple jump and third in the long jump and Aaron Achten finished third in the boys 3200 meter run. The Cardinal boy’s 4x100 meter relay team with a third place finish also qualified for State. 

Elizabeth Nobert led Clifton-Clyde at Regionals as she won the 300 meter hurdles (48.97), while taking second in the 100 meter hurdles. Maycee Callihan also qualified for State for Clifton-Clyde placing second in the girl’s discus, while Baylie Bowser took fourth in the girl’s discus, Brian Reese place fourth in the boy’s pole vault and Austin Francis finished fourth in the boys long jump. 

Jordan Sachse is the only Immaculata Raider to qualify for State as she placed fourth in the high jump and triple jump.
