The Atchison Phoenix battled back from a double digit third quarter deficit to defeat long time Class 4A rival Hayden 68-67 in Atchison Saturday afternoon.  Led by Freshman Trey'Von Gillum with 25 points and double figure scoring from teammates Jerimiah Thompson, Kael Williams, and Yogi Purdy, AHS kept it's perfect season intact moving to 25-0.

With championships of the Meadowlark League and Sub-State under their belts, Head Coach Pat Battle's team heads to the State Tournament whose format change this year will have Atchison on the road playing at Kansas City Kansas Community College this Wednesday (March 11) at noon against the 16-9 McPherson High School Bullpups.
