The Troy Trojans took another step toward their ultimate goal Friday night as they shut out St. Mary's Colgan 28-0 in a dominating Sub State battle. 

Troy (12-0) gave its fans a look at a punishing ground game.  Known for superb defense and an offense which passes the ball at will, the Trojans used Friday's game to (pardon the unintentional pun) let the running game stretch its legs. They put up 250 yards rushing which complimented 145 passing yards. The Trojan defense gave up only 65 total yards to Pittsburg Colgan in their first shutout of the season. It seemed fitting that the defense also initiated the scoring for the night by recording a safety in the second quarter.

Alex Martinez celebrated his birthday with a pair of touchdowns and team high 88 yards rushing and Cuttar Huss had 159 yards of total offense. 

Next up a return trip to the State Championship Game at Fort Hays State University and a title match with the Plainville Cardinals next Saturday at 1:00 PM in Hays, KS. The title game will be broadcast live on KNZA 103.9 FM with pregame starting at 12:20 PM.
