JCN Sweeps Jackson Heights to Stay A Top NEKL

It was a Tuesday night and season sweep for the visiting Jefferson County North Chargers as they pulled a way in the second halves for wins at Jackson Heights.

GIRLS = JCN 44, Jackson Heights 38

The Chargers started slow but used a 7-0 run to begin the second quarter and take an 11-5 lead that they would never let go.  Leading 17-9 at halftime, JCN stretched the margin to as many as 17 points in the third quarter.  The Cobras got a pair of treys from Alexis Rieschick and Kyle Dohl to close the period, but Jackson Heights could not get any closer than six points in the final frame.  Dohl had 13 points and Hannah Williams added 8 as the Lady Cobras fell to 8-11 overall and 7-8 in the NEKL. 

JCN overcame 19 turnovers, including 8 in the opening quarter, but pulled away in the third quarter behind Jentry Seichepine who scored 8 of her 12 points in that period.  Ravyn Jobbins added 10 while Annabelle Vaught and Josie Weishaar each had 8 points in the Chargers fourth straight win that keeps them tied with Valley Falls at 14-1 in the NEKL and now 17-2 overall. 

BOYS = JCN 65, Jackson Heights 49

Braden Schneider scored 10 points in the first quarter and had 17 by halftime as Jackson Heights had no answer for the senior forward inside.  Schneider finished with 26 points while Brayden Summer added 15 and Brysen Weishaar posted 12 as the Chargers improved to 16-3 overall and 14-1 a top the NEKL.  JCN made 9 of their 13 free throws in the fourth quarter to maintain a lead of at least eight points. 

Wyatt Olberding finished with 10 of his 23 points in the fourth period and Brady Holliday added 9 while Braden Dohl had 8 points before the Cobras fell to 12-7 overall and 11-4 in the NEKL. Jackson Heights did not make a three-pointer in the second half while also missing several easy shot opportunties.
