Eight Area Volleyball Teams Ranked in Latest KVA Week 2 Rankings

Volleyball season continues with teams well into the season now having played at least one tournament and multiple League matches and the Kansas Volleyball Association has released its Week two rankings which feature eight area teams. 

Class 1A-Division I continues to be held down by the Centralia Panthers who rank #1 again this week. The Panthers are 10-1 on the season after having split action on Tuesday in a Twin Valley League Triangular at Valley Heights as the Centralia beat Doniphan West but lost to Valley Heights. The Hanover Wildcats remain ranked in 1A-DI polls also moving down one spot to #4 and sit at 15-5 on the season. Wildcats split their twinbill on Tuesday in TVL play as they hosted Linn and Washington County, picking up the win over the Bulldogs and falling to the Tigers. 

One other TVL team remains in the rankings as the Axtell Eagles check in at #8 in Class 1A-Division II moving down two spots this week. The Eagles fell to 5-7 on the year after falling to Frankfort and Blue Valley-Randolph on Tuesday. 

Nemaha Central Thunder volleyball team is riding a 10-match winning streak and sits at 15-1 on the season and moved up one spot in the Class 3A rankings this week coming in at #6. Thunder most recently won their home Invitational this past weekend. Fellow Big Seven League team the Royal Valley Panthers continue to join Nemaha Central in the 3A rankings as the Panthers come in at #10 this week down two spots. Panthers earned a pair of League wins over ACCHS in their latest action back on Tuesday. 

One other Big Seven team remains in the rankings this week also as the Holton Wildcats check in at #10 again this week in Class 4A-DII. Wildcats are 6-5 on the season after a pair of wins at Riverside on Tuesday in League action. 

Class 2A features a pair of Northeast Kansas League teams as the Valley Falls Dragons jump into the rankings this week checking in at #9, while Jefferson County North stays ranked this week coming in at #10 falling four spots in the polls. The Dragons in their most recent action beat Mclouth and Rossville on Tuesday, while JCN picked up wins over Jackson Heights and Maur Hill-Mount Academy on Tuesday in their latest action.
