Northeast League Volleyball Honors Handed Out

The Northeast Kansas League has handed out volleyball All-League honors after the 2017 season. 

The NEKL title once again belonged to the Valley Falls Dragons who won the League for the fourth straight year and went unbeaten in League play 14-0 and finished with a 30-7 record on the season. A trio of Dragons earned first team All-League honors as senior, Rachel Frakes along with junior, Reagan Kirkwood and sophomore, Jaci Brinker each snagged the honors. Senior, Drew Delong picked up honorable mention honors. 

The Jefferson County North Chargers earned second place in the NEKL with a 12-2 League mark and finished year 32-9 overall. The senior duo of Ravyn Jobbins and Annabelle Vaught both earned first team All-League while senior, Sammi Hughes and junior, Crystal Feldkamp each got the nod for honorable mention honors. 

Third place in the NEKL belonged to the Jackson Heights Cobras who finished 8-6 in League play and 20-17 overall on the season. Senior, Abby Williams and sophomore, Kylie Dohl each picked up first team All-League honors, while junior, Karley Dieckman was named honorable mention. 

Finishing fourth in the League were the Maur Hill-Mount Academy Ravens who finished 7-8 in the League and 16-19 overall. Senior, Lauren Kocour grabbed first team All-League honors, while senior, Heather Ronnebaum was named honorable mention. 

Oskaloosa (6-8, 15-21), Pleasant Ridge (5-10, 10-24), Horton (3-11, 11-24) and McLouth (2-12, 7-30) rounded out the team finishes in the NEKL finishing fifth through eighth, respectively. 

Oskaloosa sophomore, Jenna Pfau was named first team All-League, while senior, Jaden Courter picked up honorable mention honors for the Bears. 

For the Rams of Pleasant Ridge senior, Montanna Adams and freshman, Bailey Ko each earned first team All-League. 

Horton had senior, Daspin Bruning earn first team All-League, while senior, Kaitlyn McAfee grabbed honorable mention honors. 

McLouth junior, Kimmi Patterson earned honorable mention honors.
