Three Area Basketball Seniors Set to Play for KBCA All-Star Games This Weekend

The Kansas Basketball Coaches Association annual KBCA All-Star games are set for this Saturday, June 23rd at Kansas Wesleyan University at Mabee Arena in Salina, Kansas. The girls game will be at 6:00pm and the boys to follow. 

Three area basketball seniors are set to play in the KBCA All-Star game this year as Gabe Pieschl of Marysville will participate in the boy’s contest, while Katie Glatczak of Centralia and Laura Macke of Nemaha Central will both play in the girls game. 

Pieschl wrapped up his Marysville basketball career helping guide the Bulldogs to the 4A-DII State Tournament were the Bulldogs fell to the eventual State Champs Hayden in the first round finishing 18-4. As a junior, Pieschl helped guide the Bulldogs to the 3A State title the schools first since 2017 posting a 22-4 record. Gabe earned first team All-State honors in 4A-DII and was also named Top 10 All-Classes by Sports in Kansas and Top 15 All-State by the Topeka Capital Journal. Gabe is set to continue his basketball career next year in college at Cloud County Community College. 

Glatczak wrapped up her Centralia Panther basketball career earning first team All-State by multiple publications and second team by another. She helped the Panthers to State three of her four years taking third in 2017, runner-up in 2015 and 1A-DI State Champions in 2016. The Centralia senior is set to continue her basketball career at Washburn University next year. 

Macke finished her Nemaha Central basketball career by helping Nemaha Central girls qualify for the 3A State tournament and finish the season 21-3 on the season. Laura picked up first team All-State honors from multiple publications and second and third team but others. As a junior Macke helped Nemaha Central girls take fourth place at State in Class 3A. The Nemaha Central senior is set to continue her basketball career in college at Kansas State University next year. 

The annual KBCA All-Star game are set Saturday, June 23rd at Kansas Wesleyan University at Mabee Arena in Salina, Kansas with the girl’s game at 6:00pm and the boys to follow.
