KBCA Releases 2019 All-State Basketball Teams

The Kansas Basketball Coaches Association has released its all-state teams for the 2018-19 season and 19 area athletes earned honors for the season.

Class 3A finished with the most area athletes on all-state teams, led on the girl’s side by Royal Valley senior Mary Broxterman who was named to the first team after leading the Panthers to a state title.

Nemaha Central’s Jacy Dalinghaus and Alleigh Kramer each earned second team all-state, while Pleasant Ridge senior Lindsey Heim also earned all-state honors. The 3A girl’s all-state teams were rounded out by Royal Valley’s Kiikto Thomas and Jeff West’s Aaliyah Negonsott who each earned honorable mention honors by the KBCA.

On the boys side in 3A four more athletes picked up honorable mention all-state awards, led by Maur Hill-Mount Academy’s duo of Jack Caudle and Zach Schwinn. Sabetha’s Jesse Burger and Perry Lecompton’s Colton Mallonee rounded out 3A all-state selections earning honorable mention honors.

Just three total area athletes earned 2A all-state awards, led on the girl’s side by Jeff County North’s Josie Weishaar who was named to the first team. Jackson Heights’ Kylie Dohl was also named a second team selection, while on the boy’s side McLouth’s Garrison Pope earned an honorable mention spot.

On the girl’s side in Class 1A four players earn all state selections, led by Frankfort senior Emilee Ebert who was named to the first team. Valley Falls senior Raegan Kirkwood and Centralia senior Madison Lueger earned spots on the second team, while Ebert’s teammate Kennen Brandt was an honorable mention selection.

The all-state teams were rounded out in Class 1A on the boy’s side with just two athletes earning honors, as Axtell’s Quinn Buessing and Centralia’s Daegan Steinlage each were named honorable mention selections.
