Feb. 9 KBCA – Rankings
Just a couple weeks remain in the high school basketball regular season and the latest Kansas Basketball Coaches Association rankings were released yesterday featuring 12 area teams.
In Class 3A the girl’s rankings continue to be dominated by the Big 7 League as Nemaha Central is the No. 2-ranked team in the state while Royal Valley is into the rankings at No. 6 and Sabetha eighth.
In 2A the Valley Heights girls continue to be highly ranked checking in this week at No. 3 with just one loss to their credit this season.
The Class 1A-DI rankings have three local teams this week on the girl’s side with Jackson Heights ranked second, Frankfort third and Doniphan West ninth.
The girl’s rankings are rounded out in 1A-DII with the Wetmore Cardinals checking in this week at No. 9.
On the boy’s side just one team continues to hold serve in Class 3A as the Royal Valley Panthers remain in the middle of the pack ranked seventh.
Two local teams ranked in Class 2A this week with the Riverside boys newly into the rankings at No. 7 while Valley Falls checks in this week ranked tenth.
The final ranked area team comes in 1A-DI with the Frankfort boys into the rankings at No. 10.
