Big 7 League All-League Basketball Teams Announced

Big 7 League All-League – Selections

Postseason high school basketball awards have continued to roll in following the conclusion of the season over the weekend and the Big 7 League is the latest to release its selections for the year.

On the girl’s side the league champion Nemaha Central Thunder led the way with two first team selections in seniors Cassidy Corby and Riley Rottinghaus.

The Sabetha Lady Bluejays finished second in the league on their way to a runner-up finish at state and had two unanimous all-league selections in seniors Leah Renyer and Melinna Schumann.

Royal Valley adds two more first team selections on the girl’s side in the senior duo of Mahpiya Irving and Wakiyan Irving after finishing with a 10-4 league record.

The Jeff West Tigers round out teams with multiple first team nods with a unanimous selection from junior Kristin Biltoft and another first team selection from fellow junior Mellany Roene.

Holton and Hiawatha round out the girl’s first team selections in the Cats Saydee Tanking and the Redhawks Clara Lindstrom.

On the boy’s side of the league the Royal Valley Panthers won the league title this season and finished with three players onto the first team in juniors Nahcs Wahwassuck and Brady Klotz.

The most first team selections came from Nemaha Central who had three guys earn nods in juniors Kurtis Beck, Marcus Beck and Zac Kramer.

Riverside was the only other team with multiple first team selections in senior Bray Davies and junior Nehemiah Byrd.

Jeff West, Perry Lecompton, and Holton round out first team selections as the Tigers had senior Josh Broxterman, the Kaws senior Parker Stone and the Cats senior Kale Purcell.
