Area Track Teams Compete at Washington County Invite

Washington County Invitational – Results

Area track teams were in action Tuesday night at Washington County as the season continued with all Twin Valley League teams in action.

On the girl’s side Axtell and Centralia each had one first place finish as the Eagles Laney Porting won the high jump while the Panthers Lena Haverkamp won the pole vault.

Onaga added two more event winners as Brianna Bates won the 200-meter dash while Rebecca Krohn won the 3200-meter run.

The most area wins came from Valley Heights who had four wins with Emma Yungeberg winning the shot put and setting the school record in the javelin, while the 4 by 400 and 4 by 800-meter relay teams also racked up wins.

On the boy’s side the Mustangs had just one win by Kadin Claycamp in the shot put, while Onaga added a win by Casey Meyers in the high jump.

Centralia added two wins of their own and both in field events as Ian Haverkamp won the javelin while Derek Ronnebaum won the pole vault.

Axtell rounded out the meet with three event wins as Mitchell Buessing captured the 1600 and 3200-meter runs while the 4 by 800-meter relay team won as well.
