Perry Lecompton Boys Lead 3A State Qualifiers at Osage City

Area Class 3A track teams competed at the regional meet at Osage City on Friday and several athletes earned ticket to the state meet including the Perry Lecompton boys winning a team title.

On the girl’s side the Royal Valley Panthers qualified athletes to state in four events led by Ivy Fink who qualified in the shot put and high jump while Samantha Neuner qualified in the javelin and Morgan Harvey in the triple jump.

Jeff West added two more state qualifiers in Mellany Roenne in the triple jump and the 4 by 400-meter relay team.

Oskaloosa had Olivia Kilgo qualify for state in the 100-meter hurdles, long jump and triple jump while Perry Lecompton’s 4 by 800-meter relay team also qualified.

Pleasant Ridge wrapped up girl’s state qualifiers with three from Emma Schwinn in the 100-meter dash along with the 100 and 300-meter hurdles while Autumn Sass qualified in the 800-meter run.

On the boy’s side Perry Lecompton had several state qualifiers led by Hunter Hess who heads to state in the 200 and 400-meter dashes. The Kaws also had Caidon Quinlan in the 100-meter dash, Caden Dean in the 400-meter dash, James Bartlett the 800-meter run, William Welch in the javelin, Kaden Doleman in the high jump and Benjamin Stone in the long jump each qualify for state along with all three relay teams.

Jeff West has just one state qualifier in Logan Wheeler in the pole vault, while Pleasant Ridge’s Chase Wohlgemuth qualified in the 110 and 300-meter hurdles.

Royal Valley added two more qualifiers in Luke Boyden who claimed a regional title in the pole vault while Antonio Greemore-Hopkins qualified in the 3200-meter run.

These state qualifiers now get set for the state meet this Friday for Class 3A at Cessna Stadium in Wichita with live reports on the MSC Sports Radio Network.
