Seneca Sweeps Doniphan County

After a rough start to the year Seneca got the bats going in a sweep of Doniphan County winning 13-5 in five innings and 8-4.

In game one Seneca jumped out early scoring four runs in the bottom of the first inning on an RBI single from Bryce Uphaus and two runs on a wild pitch along with another on a bases loaded hit by pitch.

DC came right back in the top of the second and tied the game as Kobe Davis doubled in a run before Cale Hamilton blasted a 3-run home run to center field.

Seneca then responded with two runs in the bottom of the second on a 2-run single by Damon Koch and finished the game off with seven runs in the bottom of the fourth inning on three DC errors.

Koch was named our McDonald’s “Player of the Game” on KNZA Radio after finishing 2-for-2 with three RBI and two runs scored while Dalton Huerter, Bryce Uphaus, Landen Baker, and Zac Kramer each collected two hits.

Kobe Davis had a big game for DC going 2-for-2 with a 2-run homer and two runs scored while Hamilton added two hits.

In game two of the doubleheader Seneca scored 2 runs in the first, two in the third and four in the fourth to win 8-4.

Bryce Uphaus collected three hits and scored three runs while Landen Baker had three RBI along with Damon Koch adding two more.

Cale Hamlilton added two more hits for DC in the loss while Kobe Davis scored twice.

Corning Takes Two from Marysville

Corning got their record back to .500 on the season with their first wins of the year taking down Marysville 6-4 and 10-4.

In game one Corning got their big inning in the third as they plated three runs to add on to runs in the first, fourth and sixth innings.

Austin Holthaus and Trenton Talley each collected two hits in the win for Corning while Ian Haverkamp and Treydon Tally each racked up two RBI.

Payton LeDuc led Marysville in the loss with three hits while Caden Brinegar and Thomas Glore each added two hits.

In game two Corning jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning and rolled to a 10-4 victory behind 11 hits and two more runs in the second and fourth innings along with four in the third.

Zac Fischer and Corbin Becker each collected two hits and home runs in the win while Fischer had four RBI and Becker two.

In the loss Marysville had Ben Kirkland, Jon Haggard and Tregan Graff each collected two hits while Thomas Glore had two RBI.

Silver Lake Rolls to Two Wins over Hiawatha

In a pair of dominant hitting performances Silver Lake racked up two wins over Hiawatha 20-5 and 10-6.

In game one Silver Lake scored 14 runs in the first inning and rolled to the 20-5 victory behind 16 hits and four RBI each from Kaden Walker and Calvin Carman and three from Eli Barnes.

The night cap again saw Silver Lake jump out to an early lead scoring three runs in the first and six in the second to lead 9-2 before eventually winning 10-6.

Gannon Remer and Jake Wegner each collected two hits and two RBI in the win while Mason Maldanado added two RBI.
