The Jefferson County North Volleyball has advanced to the 2A State Tournament as they won the Oskaloosa Sub-State on Saturday.
It's the 19th time in school history that volleyball has advanced to the State Tournament.
The Chargers were the top-seed in the Sub-State and swept Riverside in their first round matchup.
Jefferson County North would go on to sweep Maur Hill in straight sets in the semi-finals, 25-11 and 25-15.
They would meet Jackson Heights in the Championship match after the Cobras swept both Valley Falls and McLouth in route to the finals.
The two sets were close in the Championship match but it was the Chargers victorious over Jackson Heights, 25-20 and 25-22.
The Chargers head to the State Tournament as the 3-seed with an overall record of 33-7 and will open up pool play on Friday against the 6-seed Garden Plain at 8:30 AM.
