It was the Frankfort girls and Axtell boys cross country teams who posted second place finishes at the Onaga Invitational on Thursday (9/15).
Girls: Frankfort posted a second place finish with 56 points behind only Rossville who won the event. The Wildcats had two in the top six with Hattie Gros finishing fifth and Holland Shirley in sixth place.
Notable finishes included Washington County's McKenzie Baker who finished third, Claire Beikmann of Linn finished fourth, and Centralia's Morgan Allen placed seventh.
Kyra Nippert of Rock Creek finished first.
Boys: The Eagles of Axtell finished in second place with 35 points behind only St. Mary's Academy. Grady Buessing won the event and was 47 seconds ahead of second place.
Wetmore's Kristopher Fulkerson finished in third place. Axtell's Gavin Shaughnessy finished eighth, Landon Begnoche of Clifton Clyde finished ninth, and Nate Linck of Jackson Heights finished 10th.
