First Wrestling Pre-Season Rankings Released Ahead of 2022-23 Season

Winter sports get under way soon and the Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association (KWCA) has released its first edition of their pre-season rankings.

For the girls 4-1A rankings, Oskaloosa comes in ranked eighth in the state ahead of the 2022-23 season.

Oskaloosa sophomore Holly Thacher is ranked number one in the state in the 105 weight class. Allison King, a senior for Oskaloosa, is number one the 155 weight class as well.

Holton junior Piper Robinson will be in the 115 weight class and comes into the season ranked sixth in the rankings.

In the boys 3-2-1A rankings, Sabetha comes into the first rankings of the year ranked number two in the state. ACCHS is not far behind as the seventh-ranked team in the pre-season rankings.

Blujays junior Cullen Wikle is ranked fifth in the 126 weight class coming into the 2022-23 season. Junior Dalton Rokey is also ranked number five in the state in the 190 weight class. Their teammate junior Colin Menold is ranked fourth in the 132 weight class. Senior Josh Hermann is ranked number four as well in the 165 weight class. Sabetha senior Jonathan Renyer is the highest-ranked Blujay at number three in the 150 weight class.

In the 144 weight class, ACCHS sophomore Easton Schletzbaum is ranked number five. Senior Bricen Lee is also ranked fifth in the 157 weight class. Tigers senior Conner Simmers is ranked number four in the 175 class, and junior Vincent Webb is also ranked fourth in the 190 weight class.

Another set of pre-season rankings is scheduled to come out on November 22nd.
