Kansas (3-5, 6-5) gets blown out at home against Texas (5-3, 7-4) by a final score of 55-14.

Texas got the scoring going first with running back Bijan Robinson getting a two-yard score a week after he was completely shut down against TCU.

KU started with back-to-back three-and-outs with quarterback Jalon Daniels returning to action for the first time since their Week 6 loss against TCU.

After a good punt return by Reis Vernon, the Longhorns started their next drive from the Jayhawk 28-yard line. Just two plays later, Robinson was back in the endzone to give UT a 14-0 lead with 5:33 to go in the first quarter.

The Jayhawks were finally able to get some first downs on their third drive of the game, but their drive stalled at the Texas 44-yard line as they went for it on 4th & 2 and came up short.

Texas was able to get points for their third drive in a row on a slow drive that lasted 12 plays. Wide receiver Xavier Worthy made a 24-yard catch to get them into Jayhawk territory which set up kicker Bret Auburn for a 28-yard field goal to go up 17-0 with 12:18 remaining in the half.

KU’s offense was finally able to put a good drive together and it appeared that tight end Jared Casey had a touchdown. However, an illegal man downfield penalty wiped it off the board and their 34-yard field goal attempt from kicker Jacob Borcila was off the right crossbar with 7:22 to go in the second quarter.

Texas took advantage of the situation and scored their first touchdown over the air with quarterback Quinn Ewers connecting with wide receiver Keilan Robinson to go up 24-0 with 3:57 left in the first half.

After Daniels threw an interception with 2:08 to go, Texas was able to get Robinson into the endzone for a first half hat trick to go up 31-0 with no time left.

The Longhorns got the first possession of the second half, and they continued to dominate. Robinson got his career-high fourth rushing touchdown to give Texas a 38-0 lead in what felt like the final blow with 12:43 still left in the third quarter.

Daniels did not look like his old self as he was 17-for-26 with 230 yards, a pair of garbage-time touchdowns and an interception. The running game wasn’t much better with running back Devin Neal only tallying 51 yards on 13 carries.

Robinson finished his day with 25 carries for a career-high 243 yards at 9.7 yards per carry with his four scores.

This felt like a game that Texas had circled on the calendar during the offseason. The Longhorns just wanted it more on Saturday and they were able to get their revenge.

Texas is still in the hunt for a Big 12 title appearance if they can win next week vs. Baylor and get some help from Kansas beating K-State in Manhattan.

As for KU, they are playing for a better bowl game and are hoping to finish the season with seven wins with the Big 12 title game now officially out of reach.
