Boys Basketball Big 7 Stats Update

The Big 7 boys basketball season resumes this week, and the league will undoubtedly be exciting until the end. There has been a lot of great play so here is a look into how things have shaped out so far.

Holton has already played four league games are atop the league at 4-0 with an overall record of 5-1.

Sabetha and Perry Lecompton are both unbeaten as well at 3-0 in league play. The Bluejays are 6-0 overall and the Kaws are 5-1.

The rest of the league is hoping for a better second half to the season with Royal Valley in fourth place at 2-3 in Big 7 play and 3-3 overall.

Hiawatha is 1-2 and in solo fifth place so far with an overall record of 2-4. Jeff West and Nemaha Central are both also 2-4 with a league record of 1-3. Riverside is looking for their first league win at 0-4 and 1-5 overall on the young season.

Holton’s Tyson Snyder leads the league in scoring with 21 points per game after scoring 11.4 per game in the 2021-22 season. Snyder is also third in field goal percentage with a staggering 65% total shots made.

Percy Duncan of Riverside is the second-highest scorer in the Big 7 with 18.4 points per game. Duncan has been a double-double machine with 11.0 rebounds per game. He also leads the entire league in assists averaging 3.3 per game.

Sabetha’s Matthew Garber is third in scoring thus far with 17.5 points per contest through his first six game. Garber is first in free throw percentage with an impressive 86%.
