Results from Washington County Track and Field Invitational

The Axtell boys track and field team dominated the Washington County Invitational on Tuesday afternoon. The Clifton-Clyde girls track and field team, meanwhile, barely got a victory as well.

The Axtell boys racked up 182 total points en route to their victory which was 114 more than second-place Pike Valley (68).

Valley Heights finished in third place with 65.5 points for third place. Clifton-Clyde was one point away from tying for fourth place with 59 points. Centralia finished sixth (48), Washington County placed seventh (42), Linn got eighth place (41), Blue Valley-Randolph ended up ninth (22), Hanover got tenth (16) and Onaga finished 11th (4.5).

The Clifton-Clyde girls won over the host Washington County by just three points with the Eagles combining for 113 points to the Tigers’ 110.

Hanover also made the podium, finishing in third place with 80 points, 20 points better than Axtell, who finished fourth place (60).

Centralia placed fifth (49), Linn got sixth place (48), Valley Heights ended up eighth (30), Blue Valley-Randolph got ninth (24) and Onaga finished tenth (23).
