Nemaha Central boys and Centralia girls win Centralia Invitational

The Nemaha Central boys and Centralia girls cross country teams won the Centralia Invitational on Saturday at Centralia Lake. 

The Thunder boys were led by John Langill who won the meet with a time of 16:45.89. That was nearly 40 seconds ahead of second place which was Grady Buessing of Axtell. The Thunder also had Bob Langill finish in fifth place. 

Jefferson County North finished in second place behind the Thunder and had Lucas Meredith finish in third place and Isaac Kane finish in fourth place. Axtell finished in third place followed by Clifton-Clyde and Horton to round out the top five team scores. 

The Centralia girls won the six team meet posting two finishes in the top 10 with Maleah Talley in seventh place and Keelyn Rempe in eighth place. 

Wabaunsee finished in second place followed by Nemaha Central in third place. The Thunder were led by Madilyn Mosteller who finished in second place. They also had Hailey Nordhus who finished in fifth place. 

Washington County's McKenzie Baker finished in third place while Wabaunsee, who won the event, posted two top five finishes including the individual champion Payton Wurtz.
