K-Preps have released their latest football rankings ahead of week six matchups on Friday night.

Axtell remains the top team in 8M-II as they ran their winning streak to 31 games after beating Blue Valley 68-0 last Friday. Brandon Schmelzle threw for over 200 yards and five touchdowns as the game was called at halftime.

The Eagles have two tough games coming up in the next two weeks as they'll face Hanover and Frankfort.

Centralia and Jefferson Counth North, both 5-0, hold true at #2 and #3 respectively in Class 1A behind only St. Marys Colgan.

The Panthers blasted Jackson Heights 48-12 in what was one of the biggest matchups in the week five slate. Centralia's Maveryk Becker finished the game with over 200 total yards of offense and four touchdowns.

The Chargers have been dominant from the start and that continued with a 66-0 win over Oskaloosa last time out. JCN's defense scored four consecutive touchdowns at one point in that game with three interception returns and a scoop-and-score on a fumble.

JCN will play St. Marys this week which could determine a district champion.

No change in Class 2A with Nemaha Central and Sabetha still the top two teams in the classification.

The Thunder dominated Jefferson West 46-0 which was their fourth consecutive shutout. Carter Hajek rushed for nearly 300 yards and six touchdowns, one week after being named one our athletes of the week. Nemaha Central remains the top scoring defense among all classes in the state.

Sabetha was able to get it done on homecoming night over Riley County last time out 27-6. Colin Menold had another 100-plus yard rushing night with a score while the defense held another opponent to under 10 points. Sabetha's defense is giving up just around 10 points per game so far this season.
