JCN Throttles Olpe to Advance to First Sub-State Championship Game in School History

The Jefferson County North Chargers advanced to their first Sub-State Championship game in school history with a 52-0 win over Olpe in the Sectional round on Friday night. 

Olpe (8-3) opened the game with an early fumble with JCN (10-1) capitalizing on a short field with an 8-yard touchdown run by Connor Keirns to give the Chargers an 8-0 lead. 

The next Olpe possession resulted in another fumble with JCN's Ethan Noll picking it up and running it in from 16-yards out to extend the lead to 14-0. 

Grady Noll had a monster second quarter with touchdown runs of 3 and 35 yards plus added an interception on defense and JCN led Olpe 30-0 at halftime. Grady would add the first touchdown of the second half on a 10-yard run to extend the lead to 36-0. 

Keirns added to his night with touchdown runs of 67 and 72 yards on back-to-back possessions with JCN building the 52-0 lead going into the fourth quarter which resulted in a running clock in the final 12 minutes. 

Jefferson County North outgained Olpe in the game 363-145 in total yards. The Chargers rushed for 267 yards and forced Olpe into six turnovers. 

Grady Noll finished the game completing four of 10 passes for 104 yards while adding 73 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Keirns was named the KNZA player of the game as he finished with eight carries for 167 yards and three touchdowns. 

The Chargers are in their first Sub-State Championship game in school history and will travel to #1 and 11-0 St. Marys-Colgan next Friday night with a trip to the Class 1A State Championship game on the line.
