The Silver Lake Eagles softball team continued their strong start to 2024 with a 10-0 (6 innings) win on Thursday afternoon at home against the Perry-Lecompton Kaws.
Junior Kendra Cook and senior Avery Wende combined to allow just one Perry-Lecompton hit. Cook struckout six in three innings while Wende struckout two and gave up the one hit.
Highlights offensively for the Eagles include an RBI double by Kira Lowrey and McKinley Kruger reaching base four times and driving in two runs.
Silver Lake led 5-0 going into the bottom of the sixth inning but they would score five runs and end the game early via the run rule.
The lone hit in the game for the Kaws was a single by Macie Corcoran in the fifth inning.
