K-Preps have released their updated rankings ahead of week five games on Friday night, Oct. 4.
Axtell remains the #1 team in 8M-II as they won their 43rd game in a row last week against Blue Valley-Randolph. That tied the all-time state 8M consecutive wins record.
Hanover is ranked #4 and Frankfort is ranked #5. Hanover defeated Frankfort last week 28-22 which was Frankfort's first loss of the season while Hanover stayed undefeated.
Jackson Heights moved up one spot and are now ranked #3 in Class 1A. The Cobras have shutout their last three opponents and have outscored their opponents in four games this season 200-7.
The trio in the Big East League still highlight the Class 2A rankings with Nemaha Central, Silver Lake, and St. Marys ranked 3, 4, and 5 respectively. Norton and Southeast of Saline are the two teams ranked above them.
Nemaha Central had an impressive win on the road at Chanute last week who was a top five team in 4A. Silver Lake edged St. Marys last week 26-20 with the Bears still searching for their first win over Silver Lake since 2004.
