Last night, the Jackson Heights Cobras played the Pleasant Ridge Rams in a district and league matchup. Jackson Heights entered the first quarter with high hopes of winning, and with no time to waste, the Cobras began putting points up on the board. The first touchdown consisted of a handoff from Drake Mellies to J.W. Moore into the endzone. Austin Zeller was also given a few chances to show off his kicking ability. A safety was made, along with another handful of touchdowns. The first quarter ended 29-0, Cobras lead.

The second quarter began with a touchdown caught by Kade Holliday. Austin Zeller was also put in to hone in on more kicking skills. At the end of the second quarter, a running clock was starting to roll as the Cobras rolled to a lead of  55-0.

Coming back from halftime, the start of the third started with a touchdown made by freshman backup quarterback Kolby Bowhay. Jan Ludvick was brought back into the game to get the extra point, which would be the final tally of the night, settling down at 62-0.

Heading into the final quarter, the Rams had chances of taking the scoreless zero off the board. However, the Cobras defensive line came up with crucial stops to keep the Rams down at zero points. After 4th down on the Rams side, the Cobras started to get quite close to a touchdown, but the Rams were on them until the end.

The game ended at 62-0, Allowing Jackson Heights to improve to 5-0 on the overall and 5-0 in league play. The Cobras are also leading their district 2-0 and will continue district play next week against the 2-3 Onaga Buffaloes. The Cobras are also outscoring their opponents in the year 262 to 7.
