The Nemaha Central cross country teams highlighted the Centralia Invite on Saturday with the boys finishing in first place while the girls finished in second place.
The boys race was won by Gavin Shaughnessy of Axtell with a time of 17:18.78 followed by Lucas Meredith of Jefferson County North and Titus Cobb of Blue Valley-Randolph.
The Thunder boys had three finish inside the top 10 with Harry Langill in fourth, Lane Mosteller in sixth, and Collin Jost in 10th place.
Rounding out the boys team standings were Valley Heights, Clifton-Clyde, Centralia, Washington County, Horton, Pike Valley, and Onaga.
The Nemaha Central girls finished second behind Wabaunsee who won the event. Wabaunsee's Payton Wurtz won the individual title with a time of 18:55.33.
Maddy Mosteller of Nemaha Central finished in second place followed by Adalynn Miller of Wabaunsee, McKenzie Baker of Washington County, and Gracie Grable of Troy.
Centralia finished in third place followed by Washington County, Jefferson County North, and Troy to round out the team standings.
Other notable top 10 finishes include Claire Buessing of Axtell in sixth place and Morgan Allen of Centralia in seventh place.
