Area athletes and teams competed on Saturday at State Cross Country meets. 1A, 2A, and 4A was held in Wamego while 3A, 5A, and 6A was held at Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence.
1A Boys: Axtell would finish in eighth place while Clifton-Clyde and Centralia would post a ninth place and 10th place finish respectively.
Titus Cobb of Blue Valley-Randolph would finish in sixth place while Axtell's top finish came from Gavin Shaughnessy who finished in 11th place.
Clifton-Clyde's Cohen Girard finished in 23rd place, Centralia's Kris Fulkerson finished in 33rd place, and Centralia's Gavin Fulkerson finishing in 50th place.
There was a total of 101 runners in the event.
2A Boys: Jefferson County North would post a ninth place finish while Rossville would finish in 11th place.
Lucas Meredith posted the best finish for JCN as he finished in 11th place. Kebeb Zimmerman of Valley Heights would finish in 39th place, while Tyler Holmes of Valley Heights would finish in 57th place.
There was a total of 111 runners in the event.
1A Girls: Centralia would finish the event in sixth place with their best finish coming from Kya Franklin in 38th place.
Other notable finishes included Washington County's McKenzie Baker in 20th place, Gracie Grable of Troy finishing in 36th place, Centralia's Cora Thompson in 53rd place.
There was a total of 78 runners in the event.
2A Girls: Oskaloosa posted a fourth place finish with the Bears best finish coming from Katelyn Vogel who finished in 25th place.
Oskaloosa also had Taylor Peterson in 31st place and Emma Vogel who finished in 32nd place.
Belle Smith of Doniphan West finished in 37th place, Alexis Blackard of Pleasant Ridge would finish in 48th place, and Kinlee Wolfe of McLouth would finish in 49th place.
There was a total of 102 runners in the event.
4A Girls: Holton would finish in sixth place with the Wildcats best finish coming from Eva Cortes who finished top-10 in eighth place.
Holton also had a quality finish from Ava Clayton who finished in 11th place. Maya Doney finished in 18th place and Kennedy Smith would finish in 63rd place.
There was a total of 99 runners in the event.
3A Boys: Nemaha Central would finish in ninth place with their best finish coming from Harry Langill in 21st place.
Other notable finishes included Dominick Schnider of Royal Valley who finished in 10th place, Jeter Adams of Riley County in 17th place, Benny Jones of St. Marys in 32nd place, and Lane Mosteller of Nemaha Central in 46th place.
There was a total of 107 runners in the event.
3A Girls: Hiawatha would finish in seventh place with the Redhawks best finish coming from Pauly Rockey who finished in ninth place.
Other notable finishes included Josie Shelton of Royal Valley in 19th place, Aubrey Phillips of Jefferson West in 22nd place, Alessandra Gerber of Silver Lake in 23rd place, Maddy Mosteller of Nemaha Central in 29th place, Tessa Gerber of Silver Lake in 30th place, Bri Guilliams of Hiawatha in 36th place, Anna Lambert of Riley County in 37th place, and Addilyn Lefferd of Royal Valley in 48th place.
There was a total of 108 runners in the event.
