The Axtell boys track and field team finished in first place at the Nemaha Central Invitational on Tuesday afternoon while the Thunder girls finished in second place.
The Axtell boys finished the meet with 144 points while Rock Creek finished in second place with 90 points.
Sabetha finished with 79 points, Royal Valley finished with 65 points, and Nemaha Central finished with 50 points to round out the top five team scores.
Notable first place finishes from the Eagles include Brandon Schmelzle in the 400m and long jump, Gavin Shaughnessy in the 3200m, Landon Schmitz in both the 110m and 300m hurdles, and Logan Sandmann in the high jump.
Axtell also swept all three relays with first place finishes in the 4x100m, 4x400m, and 4x800m.
The Thunder girls were one point off first place Rock Creek who won the event with 130 points. The Thunder finished the day with 129 points.
Marysville finished with 86 points, Doniphan West finished with 71 points, and Axtell finished with 49 points to round out the top five team scores.
Notable first place finishes for the Thunder girls were Maddy Mosteller in the 1600m, Cami Dalinghaus in the shot put and discus, Ali Henry in the javelin, Meg Honeyman in the long jump, plus they won both the 4x100m and 4x800m relays.
