Clifton-Clyde Volleyball Wins Wakefield Tournament

The Clifton-Clyde volleyball team captured the Wakefield Tournament championship on Saturday. 

The Eagles swept the tournament going a perfect 5-0. They beat Flint Hills, Peabody, and Blue Valley-Randolph in pool play. The matches against Flint Hills and Peabody were straight sets while the match against the Rams went to three sets. 

The Eagles opened up bracket play with a victory against Pike Valley and then followed that up with a semifinal win against Republic County. 

They would close out the tournament with a 25-21, 26-24 win against Bennington in the title match. 

The Rams of Blue Valley-Randolph only lost twice and finished the tournament in third place. The Rams lone loss in pool play was against Clifton-Clyde and then they would beat Wakefield to open up bracket play. 

The Rams would lose to Bennington in the semifinals before beating Republic County 25-21, 16-25, 26-24 to claim that third place finish.
