Drew Pickerell

The 2019 high school football season got off to a rough start for the Valley Falls Dragons as they started the season 0-3 with all three losses by 25-plus points. 

Despite the rough start the Dragons put that all to rest Friday night by picking up their first win of the season, ending an 11-game losing streak and upsetting previously unbeaten Lebo 52-42. 

It was a huge day for senior quarterback Drew Pickerell who accounted for seven total touchdowns in the win. 

Through the air he tossed four touchdowns and threw for 286 yards while on the ground he rushed for 210 yards and three more scores. 

Those seven touchdowns now give Pickerell 14 total touchdowns on the year including nine through the air and five on the ground. 

Pickerell and the Dragons will look to build off Friday’s win this week as they will take on Burlingame at home at 7 p.m.
