Last week, The Sports Ticket with Pat Strathman debuted on KAIR 1470 AM. The show airs on Thursdays at 5 pm and Saturdays at 1:30 pm on KAIR 1470 AM and posted on mscsports.net.
The weekly show breaks down high school and Benedictine College sports throughout the athletic year with sound clips from coaches. Each show lasts 30 minutes. Pat keeps you informed with the latest results in all the area high school and Benedictine College sports, while bringing interviews with area athletes and coaches. Also, Tom Kautz and other special guests periodically join the show.
First up, Pat talks high school wrestling, recapping the previous tournaments, breaking down the latest rankings in the Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association and previewing this weekend.
Next, Pat talks with Atchison senior Arika Smith, the girls athlete of the week. Arika dropped 24 points in the opening game against Perry LeCompton and followed up the performance with 14 points on Tuesday against Pleasant Ridge.
In segment three, Maur Hill Mount Academy junior Dillon Kramer joins the show. Kramer was selected as the boys athlete of the week after starting the 2013-14 campaign with 21 points and adding 13 against Doniphan West on Saturday.
Wrapping up the show this week is a special segment called “Crossfire.” KAIR news director Joel Hardy asks questions to Pat about Kansas basketball, Kansas City Royals and Kansas City Chiefs.
