Falls City Cross Country Teams run at JCC Invitational

(KTNC)--Fourteen girls and boys cross country teams participated in the Johnson County Central invitational Friday in Tecumseh.
 Falls City was among the teams.
 In the boys’ race, Yutan was the team champion with 45 points, with Boys Town second with 50 points. JCC was 5th with 101 points, Pawnee City was 7th with 108 points, and Falls City was 9th with 113 points. Tarkio did not have enough runners to record a team score.
 Kyle Leafty was the top individual runner for Falls City, earning a medal with an 8th place finish with a time of 18:31. Next for the Tigers were Brandon Gibson (27th), Anthony Baker (33rd), Brett Black (52nd), Blake Vitale (66th), and Christian Bennett (67th).
 
 In the girls’ race, Platteview was first with 28 points. Malcolm also had 28 points and finished 2nd. Falls City was 3rd with 85 points, tied with Louisville, and JCC was 5th with 95 team points. Tarkio and Pawnee City also competed but did not record a team score.
 Individually, Lainey Larsen paced Falls City with a 9th place finish in 22:58. Krystal Samqua finished 18th in 24:23, Lauren Bierman was 28th, Cheyenne Dovel 35th, Morgan Roberts 36th, and Haley Liberty 40th in the varsity race.
 
 Falls City cross country teams travel to Fairbury on Thursday.
