Two Kanzaland area teams made a trip to Desoto for volleyball action this weekend in a tournament featuring ten teams. The Jeff West Tigers and Jefferson County North Chargers both took part in the action at the Desoto Invitational and one team had a better day than the other.

In pool play action it was the Jeff West Tigers making it out of their pool in second place with a 3-1 record beating Leavenworth and Tonganoxie in straight sets and Desoto in three sets, while falling to Baldwin in three sets.

For the Chargers of JCN they didn't far as well in pool going 0-4, they did force Lansing to three sets (Lansing won the Chargers pool).

The Tigers advance to the semifinals of the Desoto Invitational were they played Lansing and fell to Lansing in straight sets 25-20, 25-21. Jeff West would respond to cap off the day with a three set rallying victory in the third place game over Baldwin (17-25, 25-13, 25-22).
