Not many teams from the area were in action over the weekend for cross country action, but Pleasant Ridge and Perry Lecompton both had runners participate in action at the Bonner Springs Invitational this past Saturday against higher level of competition from the higher classifications.

Both Pleasant Ridge and Perry Lecompton finished the day with a Top 10 finisher in girl's competition with the Rams coming in the regular race and the Kaws coming in the 4K girl's race. Lexia Jamison raced to a time of 16:30.71 in the girl's 4K race and notched a fifth place finish with that time. While in the other race Kristina Silvers for the Rams finished 10th behind a time of 20:48.73.

Also competing for the Rams on the day Bridget Howard took home 47th in the girl's race, out of 98 competitors. While in the boy's race Tyler Darrow had the best showing by Pleasant Ridge finishing 61st, while Clayton Price followed him at 63rd.

Kerry Aldridge, also competed for Perry Lecompton in the 4K race as she finished 86th on the day.

Both teams will get back to action on Saturday, September 27th at the Rim Rock Invitational in Lawrence, Kansas.
